The Hobbit was written by the author John Ronald Reuel Tolkien CBE January 1892 – September 1973). As we said he actually wrote The Hobbit before he penned Lord of the Rings. In fact after the early success of The Hobbit, his publisher requested a follow up story. Our stay-at-home Hobbit is transformed from a conservative creature to one who has a special part to play in events shaping the world of Middle Earth.into the movie, Peter Jackson the director has chosen (in his view) the one actor who was born to play Bilbo Baggins, he is Martin Freeman. He certainly has a Hobbit-esque look about him. We loved him in the movie Love Actually when he played an all together different character.

Richard Armitage will play the role of Thorin Oakenshield, with other parts by Aidan Turner, Rob Kazinsky, Graham McTavish and the evergreen Ian McKellen as Gandalf. We can’t wait for 14th December 2012 when The Hobbit – An Unexpected Journey is released. Can you hold on then for another year when follow up is scheduled?
